How Care Community supports Home Care Workers

As the Home Care Workforce Support Program in WA, Care Community can assist entry-level and qualified Home Care Workers with a range of services and benefits.

Care Community provides registered candidates with advice, compliance and training support to be employable to Home Care Providers. Care Community cannot guarantee candidates will be employed by Home Care Providers. 

 

Recruitment:

Care Community works together with Home Care Providers in WA to identify potential employment opportunities for candidates registered to the program. The program engages with a range of Home Care providers across the state of WA to boost the home care workforce by connecting candidates with providers.

Matching:

Care Community works with candidates to match the right home care workers with the right home care roles. Candidates registered to the program will go through a pre-screening process to determine their suitability for home care roles based on minimum requirements for working in home care. 

Registered candidates are considered for two types of roles in home care:

  1. Domestic Assistant - Unqualified entry-level roles. Responsibilities include mostly cleaning, meal preparation, food shopping, social support & transportation.
  2. Community Support Worker -  Qualified experienced roles. Responsibilites include personal care, manual handling, medication competency, cleaning, meal preparation, food shopping, social support & transportation.

These are the requirements candidates must meet to be considered for work as Care Community candidates in both qualified and unqualified roles:

RESUME

  • You must provide an up-to-date resume including your phone number, email address, and suburb of residence.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Drivers licence (WA C-Class, International, or Green Provisional P-Plates)
  • Reliable access to a vehicle or own your own car

MUST BE WILLING TO OBTAIN 

  • Comprehensive Car Insurance
  • First-Aid Training (Care Community can organise this for you)
  • Police Clearance (Care Community can organise this for you)

VACCINATIONS

  • Covid 19 Vaccinations (Minimum 2 doses)
  • Flu Vaccination

QUALIFICATIONS (Optional)

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Community Services or similar. Other relevant or higher qualifications in Aged Care, Disability, Health or Medicine can be considered for working in Home Care.

ADDITIONAL COMPLIANCE (Optional)

  • NDIS clearance
  • Manual Handling
  • Medication Competency
  • Working With Children's Check

ENGLISH COMPETENCY

  • Candidates must be able to read, write and communicate in basic English to converse with clients, team members, record information and understand client case notes.
